Who am I…?

The poets from Logandale were tasked with taking on a different persona. However, they could not name their persons in the poem. Try to guess the point of view of their character. Enjoy!

I am big

I eat sea creatures

I live in the Arctic ocean

I weight 90,000 pounds

I hold my breath for 90 minutes

I don’t play with other animals

I play with objects under water

I’m very scary

I look like sea monster

I am your biggest fear

I take you when the time comes

I will not return you

You will not have second chances

And you will be on top or on the bottom

You will meet your maker

Bye.

I’m creepy

I’m from Mexico

I’m a legend

Kids are scared of me

I take children to the river

I drown kids

I capture little kids

I’m always sad

I drowned my own kids

My husband had left me.

De’sire S.

I always have a sweet taste

I am a round and sweet treat

Then I get into the oven I get all baked

I get sweet frosting on me

When I get frosted I wait to be cooled

And then people take me to eat

Then I sit in a mouth

And wait until I get digested

Hot wings

As I fly through the wind with my flavored dusted wings

All the sparkles fall off of my wings.

As the sun hits me, my wings burn and the wings are hot.

I fall onto the ground with steam coming out of my wings

As I run into the woods I try to find my way back home.

Because when I had my wings I was able to find my family.

After running for an hour I finally found my family

I hugged my family and my wings finally cooled again because of family.

All these things in my head, I feel hypnotized.

Planning day by day but not all at once.

These days are numbered and my life is a leap year.

I watch the days, months, years go by

As people plan their days on me. It’s February again

And cold on the inside,

But it is actually July and it’s hot outside.
