This week at Darwin Elementary! The second graders read Blake’s, Tyger, and considered his metaphor–that a tiger is so powerful, it seems as if it was made in a metal forge. Then I asked, what animal do you find amazing, and what sort of questions or metaphors would you create for it? As you can see below, the 2nd graders are getting quite skilled at the poetic line and the stanza, as well as metaphor and personification, two new vocabulary words for them. Enjoy!
