Un Año para Recordar | A Year to Remember

We read the poem, fresh, by Nayyiryh Waheed and it inspired us to think about what hasn’t happened. We are thinking about this year and what it will be. First, we answered questions about the year: What color is it; what animal, what does it sound like, what will it bring?

Here are some of our answers; and next we will add to these details in order to build a poem about what we will welcome in this new year. Soon we’ll publish the finished poems!

hay

sentimientos.

todavía no has sentido.

dales tiempo.

casi están aqui.

Gold and black as new years

like the stars and sky

drinks and juice

apple cider smells like apples,

fresh

from the tree, bright lights in the sky talking

people in the house you can see

through the windows.

The new year is the color black and gold

because it represents new year colors.

The year smells like Febreeze because Febreeze smells good

and the year is good.

It sounds like a bird chirping, going,

ca, ca, ca!

And looks like a white fluffy wolf

because it snowed yesterday and it was white.

I’m looking forward to lots of road trips

with family,

in a year filled with road trips.
