Students talked about and then wrote poems about emotions using personification and other poetic devices. Some students created new emotions to write about by combining two existing emotions.

Happiness By Elijah H.
Happiness is like a sunrise on a summer morning
Happiness is the fun hidden in every nook and cranny
Happiness is the heart that beats every minute
Happiness is the little things
Happiness is
Happiness
by Adalee H.
Happiness lives in that yellow painted cottage.
She has ocean eyes and golden hair.
She says she is in everyone just some people
have more of her than others.
You will see her when you go on that trip to Hawaii.
You will see her when you get accepted to your dream school.
You will see her when you hold that boy’s hand.
Her sister is Joy.
It’s a very happy family.
She is friends with Courage and Hope
They get along very well
She stays away from Evil and Envy.
To keep away the bad energy.

Sadessed
By: Liam P.
Walking through the streets
Rain starts to pour down like the clouds crying
Harder
Harder
And harder
Drenched…
As I was walking all of the others ran into their homes
While I stayed walking… one foot
After the other foot
After the other foot
Soon coming to complete stop
A tear had rushed down my cheek
Realizing…….
There is no home to go back to.

Hapcited
by Miles F.
To be hapcited
To be happy
To be exited
To be both happy and exited
To feel like a kid
To feel like your opening presents
To feel like you’re a flying cloud
To feel like you’re having fun
To act like a dancing tree
To act like the wind blowing
To act like a bumbling bumble bee
To act like a waddling penguin
To move like a crazed kid
To move like a bush in an aggressive wind
To move like an exciting TV show
To move like a gift being opened
To become like a kid
To become like a bush in aggressive wind
To become like the wind
To become hapcited.
Stress
by Benjamin D.
Stress looks like a man in the corner
Slowly getting closer
Stress is the feeling you have in your chest
The feeling of being shoved into a room that to tight
And locking the door
He likes to hide in plain sight
Waiting for the right moment to jump at his prey
Like a panther
I see him almost instantly
Jumping in front of me before i even notice
Hes there
Like a rain cloud
Always above my head
His best friend anxiety
They play together at school or in aspen
Him and her are inseparable
Always coming as a package deal
Never just one of them
