In Ms. Mild-Thomas’s class, we read Matthew Olzmann’s “Mountain Dew Commercial Disguised as a Love Poem” in class and loved the specificity and humor! Many of us said that being so specific about someone you love was a way to really see them! We drew pictures of people we love to try to think through as many specific details as we could and then wrote them poems modeled after Olzmann’s.
