A New Look for Our Biggest Year Yet
Did you spot anything different on our billboard? 🥁It’s our brand new 50th anniversary logo! And yes, we have stickers😜This is only the beginning: We’ve been working with partner orgs, digging through archives, and calling some old friends to create an amazing year of festivities. First up is a retrospective exhibit (!) and a celebratory event on July 13! There will be musical performances, poetry readings, and the premier of a documentary film about CPC. See you there! Students Represent Illinois at Poetry Out Loud
Earlier this year, CPC hosted the Chicago regionals for the national Poetry Out Loud competition. Winners from this competition joined 15 others representing 8 regions in Illinois for the Illinois state title. State winner Yohanna Endashaw (center) wowed judges with recitations, including “Sonnet: On Being Cautioned Against Walking a Headland Overlooking the Sea, Because it was Frequented by a Lunatic” by Charlotte Smith.
