‘jellyfish, sharks, and sea anemone’: Aimee Nezhukumatahil Imitation Poems

What were our favorite TV shows when we were young? What did they teach us? What makes a hero (both real and imagined), and how can we learn from them (even the villains) and the inner hero inside of us? We explored those concepts and more in the poem, ‘What I Learned From The Incredible Hulk’ by Amiee Nezhukumatahil.

Lesson Note: Have you heard? A Harvard social scientist recently found that posing like a superhero increases confidence and creates lasting positive change! Superman actor Christopher Reeve noted, ‘I think a hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure despite overwhelming obstacles.”  Singer Bob Dylan adds: ‘I think of a hero as someone who understands the degree of responsibility that comes with their freedom.”

What I learned from Octonauts

by Jasmine T. W.

Stay away from blue-ringed octopuses,

jellyfish, sharks, and sea anemone

Pollution is taking away

sea creatures’ natural habitat

and that there are volcanoes underwater.

Submarines should not leak

oceans and lakes have different types of water

some fish need saltwater

some creatures live in tidepools

mudskippers are fish that can go out of water.

What I learned From Boonie Bears

by Jing Lin Z.C.

Deforestation is bad,

Trees help the environment

And we are destroying them

Like there’s nothing.

The Boonie Bears taught me that,

It taught me that without trees,

Bears and other wildlife wouldn’t

Have homes at all.

Team umizoomi

Thank you for helping me

This show prepared me for kindergarten

And much more ahead

Watching this show

Was like an endless supply,

An endless supply of fun learning

I learned math,

Patterns,

and even shapes.

This was the only thing that would catch my attention

And also the only thing to calming me down

Keeping me out of my mom’s hair

Thank you
