Last week at Swift – rather than introducing a new lesson – I asked students to look through their folders to select a poem that they would like to spend more time on. Many 2nd graders in Ms. Pendola’s class chose to write out their “Love Poems,” which they brainstormed artfully during Valentines Day. Students in Ms. Brist’s class worked on their color poems. Enjoy!

Europe
by Melita S.
Europe is the best place ever!
From their bread to cars to restaurants!
It’s really easy to
get a pet since there are a lot of strays there.
When the sun sets, the people start praying.
There are a lot of vintage and useful gadgets.
There are a lot of sheep everywhere.

If someone is scared to try it
I would tell them “just try and if you don’t like it then
you don’t have to do it.”
Things I love.
