Hyde Park Is Calling

This week at Hyde Park we discussed calls to action and what it means to push for changes large and small. These young men brought their grievances and visions to the table, confronting everything from AI to processing emotions, for us to hear. Here are some of those calls.

Calling All Artists

by Kendall W.

My skin says

I am black.

My DNA says

I am the son of my parents.

My pure skills show that

I am the best badminton player to step foot here.

My ego and will say

I am a striker and the best player on my team.

But above all that my talents say

I am an artist.

Pure hard work with my human hands

can go a long way without any AI.

Calling all artists to band together to

take on these AI’s who can’t even make a

hand without duplicating a finger or two.

Call to Action?”

by Davion D.

let’s call to action on these emotions

and how they can fill the sky and the

ocean But if you can’t control them they will

ruin your life they will cause you

to crash out at the smallest thing

like a dime We need to talk and not keep our emotions

bottled up

“Call to Action”

Javion C.

Dear black community can we

please stop belittling each other

because we have different goals.

Can we please stop the hate

along with the self-hatred. Can

we please stop taking lives

because we feel like there’s no

choice. How about we uplift

one another and motivate each

other. Recognize our differences

and release the shackles of

our confinement.
