Not many poets can complete a poem within an hour. Finished poems often take a few drafts over the course of many days or weeks. Unfortunately we only have 1 hour together in the school period to learn about poetic devices and write poems. Today, halfway through the residency, the 5th and 6th grade poets from Ms. Murrays took a piece of work that they wrote in a previous class and continued editing their poem. This helped reinforce the need to revisit work after some time has passed. The poets added, edited, and reworked their poems. Stay tuned for their final drafts!
