Cecilia Pinto and Kristy Bowen to Read Nov. 19

Join the Poetry Center of Chicago on November 19 from 6-7pm for the next installment of the Six Points Reading Series.

Admission is free in the Garland Room on the 1st floor of the Chicago Cultural Center.

November will feature poets Cecilia Pinto and Kristy Bowen. Curated and hosted by Danielle Susi.

CECILIA PINTO is a graduate of the writing program at the School of the Art Institute where she studied with Rosellen Brown, Janet Desaulniers and Beth Nugent among others. Her poetry and prose has appeared in a variety of publications over a twenty year period. This year she was named one of ’25 Writers to Watch’ by the Guild Literary Complex. Her poetry chapbook, A Small Woman is available from Dancing Girl Press. She has long history with the Poetry Center of Chicago, and was a Poet In Residence in the Hands On Stanzas program for over ten years.

A writer and visual artist, KRISTY BOWEN is the author of several book, chapbook and zine projects, including the shared properties of water and stars (Noctuary Press), girl show (Black Lawrence Press, 2014) and the forthcoming major characters in minor films (Sundress Publications, 2015). Her work has appeared most recently in Dressing Room Poetry Journal, birdfeast, and Projectile,. She lives in Chicago, where she runs dancing girl press & studio.
