Carnival of the Animals Workshop

CPC is facilitating three poetry workshops for middle and high school students at the Boys & Girls Club in Bridgeport! Musu Bangura, Timothy David Rey, and Madison Mae Parker are the Poets in Residence facilitating those workshops. Each poet workshop design is inspired by themes in Marc Bamuthi Joseph’s Carnival of the Animals, a performance in response to the events of January 6, 2021. The social justice-focused workshops engage students with ideas about the kind of world they’d like to inhabit, and what they can do to make that world a reality.
