Students wrote “Abecedarian” poems that use the entire alphabet as the lefthand spine of the poem.

Lesson Note: “My essential poetics is simply to be doing something, making something, playing, struggling, learning something – more time in practice than in the game.”-Terrance Hayes, poet

Abecedarian

By Clark A.

At the beginning i was a

Bumblebee

Cowarded away from the

Dark

Everywhere was scary

Found myself

Getting away from the

Happy other bumblebees

In florida there i was next to my

Jar of jelly, my

Kin was happily back in georgia

Loving themselves

Making memories

Never caring about me

On the hive in the tree in thee

Prairie

Qwerty my best friend was all alone a misfit

Rewarded with a second chance after his

Stinger was washed away

To a silly human taking our honey

Under the daylight

Various bees died that day

When the queen died it was panic

Xylophones were ringing

Your mother died

Zambia is where those people were from

Apples and

Bananas in our bellies

Cat is being crazy

Dog is even crazier

Elephant on the tv

Fish in the tank

Games are being played

Helpless siblings loosing

I love my family

Justin made a joke

Kerstetters are laughing

Love we have

Mom made cookies

Never a dull moment

Open the oven, cookies are ready

Pengins are dancing

Quiche is baking

Ripe mangos, finally!

Surplus of money in Monopoly

Treats are done

U are so nice

Very fun night

Won’t be forgotten

You are awesome

Xylophone is playing

Zebras on the TV.

Ask me about what my wonderful family does and i will tell

Binge the latest show while my mom

Cooks our favorite tacos that are

Delightful to enjoy with a

Entree of beans and rice as we

Find out what happens in the end of a show we

Grin in excitement as the most action pack event happen the

Hours continue while my brother starts to

Intervene asking a trivial question as

Joseph leaves to do random thing my sister

Kaya gives us her freshly made cake which we

Love the taste of how it taste like a

Midnight walk as the

Night continues to keep growing its darkness

Overpowered light blast into the sky as the

Play we watch starts to quite down we will

Remember the valuable moments of this as we

Strut out of theater which production

Touched our souls we

Unite together to talk about the

Vintage memorie just made as we

Wait for ride to get here the

Xing the thing watch gave me is  something  that will

Zig zag in my brain
