The Chicago Poetry Center is excited to announce an open call for new board members. We are seeking individuals with a passion for connecting people to poetry–and to our poetry programs– in Chicago and beyond.
As a member of the board, you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of the organization and help CPC make a meaningful impact on the literary landscape of our city. Whether you’re an experienced reader of poetry, a lover of spoken word, or simply someone who understands that an appreciation for the beauty of language can profoundly affect quality life, we welcome you to join us.
We are looking for individuals with a variety of skills, experiences, and capacities to join our board, from participating in board meetings and leading committee work that includes robust conversations about the direction of the organization, to a willingness to provide personal and professional skills and talents toward the work of supporting and promoting the organization.
If you’re interested in joining our board, please complete this Google Form. We will be accepting applications from April 1 to April 24 with the intention of onboarding new members at our Board Meeting on June 5.
We’re looking for people with a variety of skills and experiences, from fundraising and development, marketing and communications, financial management, legal and human resources professionals and more. Whether you have a little or a lot of experience, we welcome your application and your unique perspective.
