Sleepy Poems @ Avondale Logandale

This week we read Li Po’s “Quiet Night Thoughts,” a great poem for setting a scene and sharing one’s quiet thoughts. Enjoy!

The Best Night
Jayleen A.

Before my bedtime
There is a bright light
So that is seems
Like I’m in heaven

Lowering my head
I see the light
Closing my eyes
I dream I’m where I belong

Before My Bed
Adamaris G.

Before my bed
I see me ceiling that is dark
my TV that is off
and my closet that has a log of dresses

Thinking what I am going to do tomorrow
lifting my hand and making shapes
Thinking when I am going to die
and thinking when I am going to move

Night Thoughts
Michelle A.

Before my bed
There’s a bright shadow of the window
So that seems
Like a bad guy on the wall

Putting my head down
I dream of bad stuff
Putting my head up I see a bunch of cars.

My Sleeping Dream
Dayanara L.

Lying in bed looking at the stars
thinking a heart breaking apart
hearts on the ground

being in bed staring at the window
looking at the moon
staring at the stars

Goodnight
Juliarys T.

When I go to bed
I see the mess in my room
I also see my colorful
stuffed animals

I think of my room
being clean and nice
I also think of me being
inside a stuffed animal’s body

Stars
Karol P.

before I fall asleep I see
the stars through the window
reflecting a bit of light shining
like the sunrise

rising my head I see the
sun
lowering my head I see
the stars

Untitled
Brian G.

Before my bedtime
There is a bright shine
Like a frost on the ground

Untitled
Owen J.

Before bedtime
I see my slime
so that it seems
like the morning gleam

The Night Sky
Elijah A.

When I go to bed
I see the moon

When I lay
down I see
the stars

and all the
house and all the
lights off
