Let’s Make It 50 for 50! Help Us Create 50 New Poetry Residencies!
As we head towards the end of the calendar year, and launch our annual campaign, the Chicago Poetry Center team is excited to share some of the organization’s recent accomplishments.
Over the past year, CPC has been able to expand its support to reach more than 2,550 students with weekly programming, and bring poetry to more than 10,000 students through educational assemblies and performances. Our “Blue Hour” public reading series hosted 30 esteemed poets, and the Critical Conversations program continues to support organizations across Chicago.
As we kick off this fundraising season, CPC has set a goal to raise $125,000, which will support 50 classroom residencies next school year. Will you help us meet our goal by supporting a residency with your donation today?
When you support our residencies you support over 2,550 Chicago students with:
- Building reading and writing skills: students are engaged through play and curiosity while growing their critical learning competencies
- Supporting social emotional development: students learn to express themselves and connect with the stories of their peers and published poets
- Guiding creative thinking: students learn key critical thinking and creativity literacy skills through collaboration with Poet in Residence
