Sound Poems

This week Ms. Murray’s 4th graders got to work on sound poems. We discussed all the different things that we hear in the various environments we live in. We talked about what we hear in the morning, at night, at home, at school and outside. Students got to work on their pieces and they put so much effort into writing about the orchestras of sound around them! I really hope you enjoy them.

Sound Poem

Camor M.

At home I hear my dog

barking at a toy

my brother’s cars crashing

and my sister’s phone playing anime videos

what I hear outside

police cars driving back and forth

people cheering at a football game Go! Go! Go!

and blue and yellow birds chirping

make me happy

what I hear at school

my teacher speaking about prime numbers and factors

students speaking about boys

and people across from my classroom talking

I hear my dog playing. Squeak!

I Hear

Wendy C.

I hear my grandma cooking. Sizzle.

I hear my phone’s music. Do ba do ba

I hear cars in traffic. Honk! Honk!

 I hear skateboards. Stccc stccc.

I hear bikes and running. Ring ring!

I hear friends speak.  Blah blah.

I hear the breeze. Fzzzzssss

I hear voices softly. La la la.

I hear pencils tapping. Tap tap.
