8th Grade-Food Poems Pt. 1

Food Glorious Food! We started by thinking of a hypothetical situation: If aliens were coming to earth to take you away to their planet, what is the one dish you would absolutely have to eat before leaving? That got a whole conversation about favorite foods started with our 8th grade class. Students then got to writing about a food and using all of their senses to describe it. Just like a good meal though, good things take time, so stay tuned, because next week, we’ll have a few more food pieces up to share. Enjoy this week’s poets!

Mac n Cheese

Theresa J.

Baked mac & cheese

looks like the the sun on

a platter

tastes like cheese

dancing on my tongue

smells like Thanksgiving

feels like my mother baking me my own

pan because I’m the only

one who wanted some.

Baked mac & cheese,

the sun on a platter

Wing Stop

Samaria K.

Wing Stop looks good

It tastes like sweet and spicy with

good seasoning.

The smell of hot honey rub

wings, make me want to sing.

Season the chicken, put flour on it

fry it then put the sauce on it.

When I first went inside

of Wing Stop I was lost,

makes me want to run

20 miles
