BEN CLARK grew up in Nebraska and now lives in Chicago, where he works as an editor for Muzzle Magazine. His first book, Reasons To Leave The Slaughter, was released by Write Bloody Publishing in 2011. He is widely published in both online and print journals, included in several print anthologies, been featured online at Verse Daily, and nominated for a Best of the Net award. In 2015, his second collection of poetry, if you turn around I will turn around, was released by Thoughtcrime Press.
KUSH THOMPSON was voted runner-up best local poet of 2014 by The Chicago Reader and one of The Root’s 2015 Young Futurists. She has contributed to showcases within the Chicago, Steppenwolf, Vic, & Victory Gardens theater. Other partnerships include performances with TEDX Chicago, The Chicago Jazz Festival, and The John F. Kennedy Center’s What’s Goin’ On Now tribute to Marvin Gaye. In the fall of 2014, as a German consulate, Thompson joined the Berlin-based Wort.Word.Lich collective for its first ever bi-lingual showcase tour. Kush is the co-founder of The Lady Church initiative where she hosts monthly meetings devoted to womyn empowerment and healing. Her debut chapbook, A Church Beneath the Bulldozer, was published with New School Poetics in 2014.
