Rhyming Animal Couplets

Lesson Note: This week, practiced rhyming and learned what a couplet was–two lines where the end of the line rhymes! We then wrote about various animals and what they were up to.

Dogs

Obvious facts about puppies:

They might be really cute and fluffy.

 

But that isn’t just the case.

Because they are different behind that face.

 

They know when to attack and fight.

And it could give you a fright.

 

Sometimes it attacks for no reason or even if it’s a little annoyed

Because they love to stay in their own void.

 

 

About a Gecko

She has thin skin

and she likes to grin.

 

She doesn’t have teeth

but she doesn’t have claws beneath.

 

She gets angry

when she is angry.

 

She doesn’t bite

She also doesn’t know how to write.

 

 

Some Cat that Likes Hats

The cat likes hats

under some mats that have rats.

 

A cat who likes hats

is no longer under a mat with rats.
