After a long and much needed break, poetry resumes at Hale Elementary. For our first day back after the holidays, we celebrated by writing poems about some of our favorite things in the world!
Minecraft
by
Abraham P.
(aka Abe the Ape)
4th grade
When you enter the game,
you spawn
in a forest
with trees, grass, and clouds
made of tiny pixels in a cube world
which is hyperrealistic.
First thing to do
is make sure you have enough food.
That’s when you start hunting.
You mostly hunt hen, horses, sheep,
and other animals in the game
(depends on what edition you bought).
You can use your hands to kill the animals
though there is no blood.
And you can see the animal turning red
and back normal again.
Sisters
by Isabella P.
4th grade
My favorite scene
from my favorite book called “sisters”
is when Raina and her little sister got pets.
They both got a goldfish.
The goldfish both died
after a few weeks
so their dad got them a chameleon
and bought crickets for it to eat
but instead the crickets
ate all the chameleons guts
right out.
The chameleon was more like a
big, green lizard
instead of a colorful chameleon.
