Howdy, readers! We’re entering our last few sessions together as Hale’s 6-8th grade poetry club. On Tuesday, we did some editing work together. Students chose to either remix their poems by swapping line orders or work with a peer to edit together. Wednesday was a chance for students to free write new poems to present at our Thursday open mic. Read below for a poem I’m sure many of us can relate to.
Forget and Forgive
Miley L.
It starts out small,
forgetting a pen for class.
Then you forget your paper

you talk to them like its nothing. But then
you apologize so much and they always
decide to forgive, and soon they forget.
I guess that’s just how life goes, you
forget and forgive.
