Join the Poetry Center of Chicago for this month’s installment of the Six Points Reading Series. Admission is free at the Garland Room on the first floor of the Chicago Cultural Center. The reading will take place on July 9th from 6-7pm.
This month, we’re pleased to feature poets Maggie Smith and Anthony Opal! Curated and hosted by Danielle Susi.
MAGGIE SMITH is the author of The Well Speaks of Its Own Poison, Lamp of the Body, and three prizewinning chapbooks. The Well Speaks of Its Own Poison was selected by Kimiko Hahn as the winner of the Dorset Prize and was released in April by Tupelo Press. Her poems have appeared in The Paris Review, The Gettysburg Review, The Kenyon Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, The Southern Review, and elsewhere. She has received fellowships from the Ohio Arts Council, the Sustainable Arts Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
ANTHONY OPAL is the author of ACTION and founding editor of The Economy. His work has appeared in Poetry, Boston Review, Harvard Divinity Bulletin, and elsewhere. He lives in Evanston, IL, with his wife and daughter.
