‘A family is…’: Abecedarians

Students wrote “Abecedarian” poems that use the entire alphabet as the lefthand spine of the poem.

Lesson Note: Abecedarian poetry offers a structured framework to explore complex ideas. It allows the poet to navigate a topic through the alphabet, creating a sense of progression and uniquely revealing the nuances of language.

Abecedarian

A family is

Bonding and playing

Checkers while eating
Donuts.
Eager to go on
Far road trips with
Good loving people.
Home is family.
I love my family
Just as much as a
Kangaroo with its baby in the pouch.
Listen to new
Music drop with my sister–
No wait, family.
Occasionally
Pops buys us plane tickets to cruises in the summer!
Questions accumulate in games
Rap challenges with cousins
Singing challenges between aunts and mom.
Together we are family
Until forever
Vows that we will love each other till the end of time.
Wowed by my uncle who play
Xylophone.
Yes i will love my family no matter what.
Zen is key with family!

Family Memories Abecedarian

by Noah C.

Always in my heart,

Beloved family members,

 Caring moments shared,

 Days that felt endless,

Every smile is a gift, Feelings of joy and love,

Goodbye is so hard

, Hugs that felt like home,

 In every cherished memory,

 Joyful laughter echoes,

 Kind words that uplift,

Love that binds us together,

Memories I hold dear,

Never will they fade,

Open my heart to remember,

 Precious stories to tell,

Quiet nights spent together,

 Reminders of their warmth,

Smiles that light the way,

 Time spent with them matters,

United in my heart,

 Vivid dreams of the past,

 Whispers of love linger,

 X-rays of our shared experiences,

Yearning for their embrace,

Zest for the life they inspired.

A family can

Balance their

Credit card

Debt by

Earning from

Five jobs and also

Gather with family with

Happiness and joy

Illness would not stop anyone from

Jajaja

Kittens are greatly appreciated

Learning from each other.

Madman can also be included

Nothing can be left out.
Oxygen can keep us living

Pizza night can keep us full

Queen Mom is always carrying

Rage from work.

Silent when she’s mad

Teaching reckless kids

Unwind on weekdays; kids

Venture for food at night

Waking up at 2 PM

Yapping about Politics with a

Zesty tone

All I think about every day is food.

Bananas, apples, almost everything.

Chinese food is one of my favorites.
Doordash is really helpful when ordering food.
Eating can be hard if you’re on a diet.
Face your fears so you’ll stay healthy.
Grown-ups can eat and drink whatever they want.
Hay is for horses only, though.
I love food, you can’t survive without it.
Japanese plums are really sweet and juicy,
Kimchi is spicy but can be healthy depending on how you make it.
Lettuce is what makes kimchi.
Morning ‘till noon, I eat, sometimes
I’m not really in the mood to, though.
Oranges give you Vitamin C,
Pears are healthy as well.
Quarters of a cake isn’t enough.
Ranting about food every day.
Slurping noodles into my mouth.
Then, drink the soup.
Udon noodles are one of my favorites.
Very delicious and flavorful.
When I’m craving spicy food, I eat Buldak.
Xiaolongbao is something I always get when I am in restaurants.
Yogurt is mid, frozen yogurt is fire though.

Zucchini can be mid when used in the right recipe.
