11th Annual Citywide Undergraduate Poetry Festival

Columbia College Chicago, Ferguson Hall, 600 South Michigan, 1st Floor
The Columbia College Chicago Citywide Undergraduate Poetry Festival brings together 12 poets from Chicago-area colleges and universities to read their work. Schools include Columbia College Chicago, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago State University, DePaul University, Loyola University, National-Louis University, North Central College, Northeastern Illinois University, Northwestern University, Roosevelt University, University of Illinois-Chicago, and University of Chicago. A reception follows the reading.

ED ROBERSON (b.1939 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is author of eight books of poetry. His most recent book, The New Wing of the Labyrinth was published by Singing Horse Press in 2009. City Eclogue, was published spring 2006, Number 23 in the Atelos series. His collection, Voices Cast Out to Talk Us In, was a winner of the Iowa Poetry Prize; his book Atmosphere Conditions was a winner of the National Poetry Series and was nominated for the Academy of American Poets’ Lenore Marshall Award.

Food for Thought: Poetry About Food

Food for Thought: Poetry About Food is a one-hour poetry writing workshop led by Cynthia Gallaher, followed by a half-hour round-table, open-mic poetry reading.
We'll be "cooking up" some poems, but no cooking or writing experience is necessary. First 20 participants will receive an issue of "Alimentum: The Literature of Food," a literary magazine dedicated to the topic of food, kindly provided by the publisher.
This writing workshop and reading is part of Chicago Public Library's CityVerse series of poetry events during Poetry Month.
