Unless otherwise specified, Reading Series events will be held at the the SAIC Ballroom
The School of the Art Institute Ballroom is located just one block east of the Loop and is easily accessible via the city's "El" train system. The Brown, Green, Orange, Pink, and Purple lines all stop above ground at Adams/Wabash, in front of the museum. The Red and Blue lines stop underground at Monroe, just a few blocks away. A number of bus lines also stop in front of the museum. Currently, El fare is $1.75 per adult with an El card; $2 with cash. Metra is Chicago's commuter rail transit system. The Van Buren and Millennium stations stop underground just 1-2 blocks away on Michigan Avenue. Visit Metra's Website for route, schedule, and fare details.

From Indiana
Indiana toll road (90) to Chicago Skyway to Dan Ryan Expressway (90, 94) to
Congress East (Loop exit). East on Congress to Congress Plaza (first light
east of Michigan Avenue.) North (left turn) on Congress Plaza, which merges
with Michigan Avenue. North on Michigan Avenue to Monroe.
From South Suburbs
Dan Ryan Expressway (90, 94) to Congress East (Loop exit). East to Congress
Plaza (first light east of Michigan Avenue). North (left turn) on Congress
Plaza which merges with Michigan Avenue. North on Michigan Avenue to Monroe.
From Wisconsin and North Suburbs
Edens Expressway (94) into Kennedy Expressway (90, 94) to Loop, exit Monroe
Street east. East to Michigan Avenue.
From O'Hare Airport & Northwest Suburbs
Kennedy Expressway (90) to Loop, exit Monroe Street east. East to Michigan
Avenue.
From West Suburbs
Eisenhower Expressway (290) east (290 becomes Congress Parkway in Loop) to
Congress Plaza North (first light east of Michigan Avenue). Left turn on
Congress Plaza which merges with Michigan Avenue to Adams.
From Southwest Suburbs
Stevenson Expressway (55) to Lake Shore Drive (41). North to Jackson Blvd.
West on Jackson (left turn) to Michigan Ave. North on Michigan to Adams.
PARKING
Millennium Park and East Monroe Garage
The entrance to both Millennium Park and East Monroe Garage is on South Columbus Drive between Monroe Street (from the south, heading north)
and Randolph Street (from the north heading south).
From the South via I-55 and Lake Shore Drive
1. Take I‐55 East towards Chicago/Lake Michigan
2. Take the Lake Shore Drive North exit
3. Follow Lake Shore Drive North to the Monroe Street Exit
4. Take a Left on Monroe Street
5. Take a Right on Columbus Drive
6. Garage entrances are located on your right and on your left in the middle of Columbus Drive
From the North via I‐94
1. Take the East Ohio Street Exit (Exit 50)
2. Stay straight to go to onto West Ohio Street
3. Turn Right on North Fairbanks Court and proceed South
4. North Fairbanks Court becomes North Columbus Drive
5. Proceed Southbound on North Columbus Drive
6. Garage entrance is located on your right
From the North via Lake Shore Drive
1. Take Lake Shore Drive South to Monroe Street
2. Take a Right on Monroe Street
3. Take a Right on Columbus Drive
4. Garage entrances are located on your right and on your left in the middle of Columbus Drive
